Commercial district is great and all fine and dandy. Downtown is great, but it shouldn’t be in the middle of a residential neighborhood. With this type of appointed oversight, what could possibly go wrong at the Casino? 🤦🏻♂️Ī lot of it is because nobody wants to live next to or across from a casino. Never mind that WLCO used the Face the Future Foundation to get folks to donate to kids with Cleft Palates - as stated on large sandwich boards at the gates - then duped a Children’s Charity out of their promised donation. Never mind that WLCO was busted for illegally selling tickets to their FREE Taste of Randolph Street Fest - can’t blame StarEvents here, they were hired to manage the gates by WLCO in order to hit WLCO’s guaranteed greedy $80,000+ “donation” payout.
Our very own local unelected neighborhood group the West Loop Community Organization (WLCO) that came out in support of the Casino - despite overwhelming Community opposition - has a Board Seat.
Former Mayor Lori Lightfoot made very careful choices when appointing our guardians to Chicago’s Community Casino Advisory Council. You’re absolutely right! We have nothing to fear.
